Me and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (my Representative) on the Capitol Steps
Well, here we are. Tomorrow is my last day on Capitol Hill.
Over my last 6 months on the Hill, I met so many friends and mentors that I know I will have for life. I hope other young people will have the opportunity to meet all of these amazing people and learn from this invaluable experience. I have been so fortunate and so grateful for my Spring and Summer semesters in DC.
All the Interns with the Congresswoman
During this time of transition, I've been thinking a lot about one of my favorite song verses:
"In restless walks she'll prowl the night."
This verse is from a Simon and Garfunkel song called "April Come She Will." It perfectly describes my situation right now. I'm unsettled by the prospect of leaving an experience that I've cherished and loved for so long, but I'm extremely motivated and excited to find a new challenge to dedicate myself to.
All the remaining female interns with my mentor Mike (the best Communications Director on the Hill)!
Have any advice for me as I embark on my next journey? Leave me a comment!

ReplyDeleteIt's definitely something that's been on my mind for a while! I might start soon. Thanks for the encouragement!
