If you know me at all, you know that I'm obsessed with AMC's Emmy-winning show, Mad Men.

As a curvy girl, I love watching the voluptuous Joan Harris (nee Holloway) strutting her stuff through the halls of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce and outsmarting many of her male counterparts with her feminine charm.

As a curvy girl, it’s encouraging to see a full-figured woman portrayed as beautiful. Hendricks has never been secretive about her size, she wears a 12, and has always been an advocate for real beauty.

In a world where women (especially women my age) are rapidly decreasing the amount of their “mystery” by wearing revealing ensembles, I especially appreciate how Joan expresses her sexuality in a subtle way through her clothing.


Here are some garments I would offer if I were styling Joan in the modern era.
