Texas Pride

Hey Southern Belle Sweethearts! Time for you to bust out your cowboy boots and Daisy Dukes; It's Summertime!

I love Texas. But if there's one thing that I don't like about it, it's that during the summer, some women use a well-planned barbeque as an excuse dress up in overly country emsembles with cliche checkered buttondown tops and denim in all it's assorted forms. If I see another denim vest, I'm going to scream!

I compiled this collection to provide you with a way to show your Texas pride without looking like you wore the flag.

The bustier top ($23, Bank Fashion) adds a bit of sexiness and mystery to the ensemble. The skirt ($39, River Island) adds the sweetness that we Texas girls are known for. The House of Harlow ($45, House of Harlow) sunburst necklace is simple, but eyecatching.

To add a little bit of that Texas twang, I put just a hint of turquoise into the outfit. This chic cuff bracelet ($40, Nasty Gal) will surely become one of your favorites; my own modern turquoise and silver cuff is in heavy rotation in my wardrobe.

These boots ($249, H by Hudson) are to die for. They're kind of expensive, but they'll be worth it come Rodeo time! Escape inevitable "calf sweat" by getting rid of the boot shaft: a shorter boot style will transition you through the summer months and into Fall.

What do you think of my take on Western wear? Let me know! Leave a comment below!
