I walked outside of my apartment building Saturday
morning, and I felt almost giddy. It was still pretty hot, but I wasn't
drenched in sweat, as per usual, and was that - why, I think it was! - a faint
breeze?!
Could it be that the blistering hot, unbearable,
days of Washington summer are almost over?
I am so psyched for the fall fashion season that I
don't know what to do. I am almost besides myself with joy. It seems almost
serendipitous that this faint glimpse of cool-ish weather came during New York
Fashion Week.
I've been keeping my eyes on the blogs and looking
at the runway shows, but how can I get excited over spring resort wear
collections when it's nearly boot weather? I walked into my neighborhood
Marshall's today and saw shelves and shelves of knee-high, ankle, and
over-the-knee boots. Their sweater aisles were stacked, and I started seeing
more Calvin Klein dresses of the knit variety.
I'm going through a phase where I want to re-edit
my personal style. My point of view for fall 2012 will be all about leathers,
fur, gray, white, and (my favorite) basic black. I'm looking forward to
layering and wearing my new jeans, leggings, and my brand new Cole Haan Air
Whitley leather and suede boots (my favorite purchase to date), and I've got my
eyes on a pair of sexy Vince Camuto leather booties.
I can’t wait to catch some of my most stylish classmates on the go in
their tailored coats, suits, and sweaters, and hit campus in style come chilly October
(I’m already mentally planning my YardFest outfit).
Check out my fall inspiration set above: very “Melissa” from Project
Runway Cycle 10, no?
